Kindergarten celebrates the 100th day of school. They made 100s with their bodies, made "heavenly hash" , walked on a "tight rope" counting to 100, received certificates for 100 days of school while wearing their number 100 glasses, which they made.

Tuesday was Tie Dyed Day at WCCS! The Wildcat posed with the two elementary winners - Carsyn Wharton(2nd grade) & Mattie Newsom (grade 4).

Second Grade - Dinosaurs
While studying a chapter on dinosaurs, second graders enjoyed a hands-on fossil making experiment. They also enjoyed making their own dinosaur skeleton using pasta discovered during a "dig."

WCCS Annual Social Studies Fair
On January 26th, the WCCS filled the Joy Center with 51 Social Studies projects at our annual Social Studies Fair. Students had been working on this assignment since early November. Categories included World History, US History, State and Local History, Sociology, Psychology, Economics and Anthropology. Each individual student learned a great deal through their research and preparation and then students learned from each other as they shared their topics!

Williamstown Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Several members of the Jr High Band played Christmas songs at the Williamstown Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in December. Despite chilly temperatures, the students played well and had a good time!

Christmas Program to the Residents of the Glenwood Retirement Community
The Junior High band presented a musical Christmas program to the residents of the Glenwood Retirement community on Dec 21. The band played a variety of Christmas music and some of the students sang Christmas songs as part of the program. Following the field trip, the students returned to the school and ended the day with a band Christmas party!

While studying the freezing point of water, Mrs. Davis' second grade class experimented with ice and salt to make their own sweet treat--ice cream in a bag!

The Element of Design Form
The students in grades 8-12 have been studying the Element of Design Form. Forms can and should be viewed from many angles. When you hold a computer part or a small sculpture, you are aware of their curves, angles, indentations, extensions, and edges -their forms. The students have designed robots using old computer and VCR parts. Many students enjoyed exploring the inside of the computer mouse. Then they used the parts as shoes for their robots.

Eighth Grade Balloon Rockets
For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. Eighth graders construct and measure their balloon rockets to prove this scientific law.

2nd Graders Make Habitats
Second graders are studying habitats in science class and each student picked which habitat they would like to make. They brought in the materials and made them in class. There are rainforest, ocean, tundra, desert, forest, and even a couple ponds.

Students at WCCS got into the Christmas spirit on Thursday by wear Crazy Christmas Sweaters. The casual day was sponsored by the cheerleaders and student council. Even some of the teachers joined in the fun.

“Census Time in Bethlehem” and “Bound By Love” were presented by students for our annual Christmas program.

Medieval Castles
The 7th grade World History classes have begun a study of the Middle Ages. Bringing history to life with some hands-on fun, students have built castles and prepared presentations to learn about life during Medieval times. Students have discovered the importance of the castle keep, castle defense, strategies for castle attacks, the role of the church, the food and clothing of the nobles and peasants, and the armor and coat of arms. As their study continues, the students will explore the life a knight, learn the ancient codes of conduct, and what life was like inside a medieval castle.
Thirty-three castles were located on the balcony of the gymnasium for viewing by students and parents.

Gingerbread Houses
The students in the Art Classes have been evaluating form and the three-dimensional aspects of objects. The students created their own edible Gingerbread Houses. This tends to be the favorite project of the year!
