Wood County Christian School

Academic Program

Four-Year-Old & Five-Year-Old Kindergartens

The K4 (four-year-old kindergarten) class at WCCS operates 2 days a week.  Parents have a choice between a Monday/Wednesday class or a Tuesday/Thursday class.  There is an optional third day – Friday.  The school day is 8:05 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.

This program provides an excellent start to your child’s education with instructional time in Bible, phonics, numbers, handwriting, language/character development, music and art.  The Christian based A Beka curriculum offers a quality academic program.

The K5 (five-year-old kindergarten) class operates 5 days a week from 8:05 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.  This class provides children with an educational experience that will nurture not only their mind, but also their spirit.

The A Beka kindergarten curriculum gives an excellent foundation for students in phonics, reading, math, handwriting, science and social studies.  A Bible lesson is a vital part of each day.  Weekly experiences in art, music, library and physical education are also included in the learning activities.
